As part of the Healthy States Initiative, CSG and its partners host Web conferences and meetings that examine public health issues affecting state government and offer examples of promising practices. 	Policy Forum on Pandemic Readiness and Emergency Preparedness
	March 14-16, 2008 Fort Lauderdale, Fla. This forum offered attendees an opportunity to participate in a pandemic simulation that someday may become a reality in their states. Through discussion with experts and other state leaders, attendees gained insight into what policies are needed so critical services continue to operate and valuable resources are used optimally. In addition to the pandemic simulation, a nationally recognized expert on Hepatitis C explained to attendees how this "silent killer" can be prevented and treated through public policy.
