Healthy States Forum for State Legislators:

Creating a Culture of Wellness

Feb.15-17, 2008                                                       Stuart, Fla.

This educational forum was designed for state legislators who attended a Healthy States meeting in 2007 and included the following topics: chronic disease prevention, school mental health, excessive alcohol consumption, HIV/AIDs and Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Immunizations and nontraditional approaches to public health.  We also reviewed CDC's new Levels of Prevention classification including health promotion, primary prevention and secondary prevention.  Attendees also heard from a nationally recognized expert on health care from the presidential campaign perspective.
