March 14-16, 2008
Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
This forum offered attendees an opportunity to participate in a pandemic simulation that someday may become a reality in their state. Through discussion with experts and other state leaders, attendees gained insight into what policies are needed so critical services continue to operate and valuable resources are used optimally.
In addition to the pandemic simulation, attendees also heard from a nationally-recognized expert in the field of Hepatitis C who explained how this "silent killer" can be prevented and treated through implementation of public policy. A stimulating presentation about the 2008 presidential candidates and their health care platform concluded the forum.
